The Information Technology Department plans, organizes and delivers all data and information services for the City of Port Huron. The department operates the City's primary data facility at the Municipal Office Center, provides connectivity to the City's remote locations through a wireless communications infrastructure, and provides and supports a consistent office software environment for use by all City departments. The department also provides and maintains the server infrastructure needed to support a number of distributed applications, especially in the area of public safety. Additionally, the department has primary responsibility for network security and application standards for all computer related activities and it designs and maintains the City's web sites.
